Status Update #3

Our plants this week are still growing strong. They are very green and strong, and their leaves and big and bright. Our plants are currently apart of three different cycles, the water cycle is the first one they are in. Our plants take water that's in the soil up through their roots to help them grow, and when they get too hot the water evaporates off their leaves in a process called transpiration. The next cycle they participate in is the carbon cycle, our plants are in it because the plants use carbon in the atmosphere to do photosynthesis, which is how they grow, and since they're growing I know they're in the cycle. The last cycle our plants are in is the nitrogen cycle by being a host for certain bacteria. The bacteria turn ammonia into proteins which the plants use to grow. I am excited to see how much more our plants grow.
